Re-opening on 10th July
Hello everyone,

We are very pleased to announce that we will be re-opening from July 10th. During the month of July our opening hours will be restricted but all being well we hope to increase this in August.

Please see below the measures we have enforced to ensure the safety of our customers, team & our family.

We still have some work to do before the 10th but we are working on our risk assessments, sanitiser stations, table plans etc to make sure we can still offer our customers a relaxed environment where you can enjoy a meal or a drink without feeling uncomfortable surrounded by screens & alert notices.

We have some procedures already set out:

A one way system in & out of the pub - Using the front main door as an entrance for everyone. The car park door will be used as an exit for the diners & the bar door as an exit for drinkers.

A one way system for the toilets with internal door wedged open where possible to reduce contact.

Extra outdoor seating for drinkers & those purchasing food from our takeaway menu. These tables cannot be pre-booked as we cannot guarantee socially distanced space inside if the weather turns.

We understand that it is difficult for younger children to adhere to the guidelines therefore we ask that all children under the age of 11 vacate the building by 7pm & ask all parents/guardians to be responsible for ensuring your child socially distances from other customers. Our children’s menu will only be available until 6pm.

We have brought in the use of tablets for our ordering system - these are for us to use & will print out our drink orders at the bar & food orders to the kitchen to reduce contact between our team.

Sanitiser dispensers are up throughout the building as well as at the entrance for both staff & customers.

We have a small screen going around our customer facing till.
We have removed a significant amount of tables to ensure we have enough space for safe dining & drinking.

As drinking at the bar is not permitted we have also removed all bar stools.
We have a dedicated area with 5 tables for drinkers. This area is just in front of the tv & beyond. Outside tables also available.

We are limited to 65 people inside the pub at any one time. Please note - this is the maximum we can allow. Please do not be offended if we cannot serve you.

Pre-bookings for food only with tables of a maximum of 6 people.
Our menu will be smaller as we have limited our staff level with accordance to the government guidelines. Outside dining will be in takeaway boxes only & our takeaway collection will have a slightly different procedure. Enter to pub to make payment, leave through the diners exit (the car park door) & wait by that door for your food to be delivered to you.

As always dogs are welcome but we do ask that you let us know that you are dining with your dog upon booking so we can reserve your table in a dog friendly area & that your dog is kept on a lead at all times.

We have limited our front of house staffing level to 3 people for the first 3 weeks & plan to increase this from August.

Reservations will be carefully spaced out throughout the evening to assist with social distancing in the restaurant & our car parking area.

A dedicated member of staff will be assigned to sanitise all contact points every 90 minutes including toilets, doors, till area etc etc.

Extra sanitation of the kitchen will also take place.

We look forward to welcoming you from the 10th - if you would like to reserve a table please call us on 01228 674511 or email info@crown-thistle.co.uk

Thank you
